NORTH DAKOTA: Supreme Court to sit in local high schoolThe Supreme Court travels to Grafton High School on Monday to hear oral arguments in a case and to meet with students.
The case the court will be hearing is unrelated to the North Dakota high school. The court will hear an appeal from a man charged with drug possession last year in Grand Forks, North Dakota after officers, suspecting that he was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, found a container of methamphetamine on him.
The man argues that the evidence in the container should have not have been used in court because the North Dakota police officer could not have reasonably suspected the container held a dangerous weapon, and the officer exceeded the scope of his consent to the pat-down.
North Dakota argues that the evidence discovered in the container was properly admitted because it would have been discovered after Waltz was arrested anyway, and there was probable cause to arrest Waltz at the time of the search. Drug Rehab by County
